Meditation
Why Meditate and really what is it all about-- I will try to explain how I see it and what I have achieved by it. Firstly to me meditation can in my opnion be said to be the slowing down of thoughts which our mind is in constant battle with.When you concentrate say on reading a book your breathing slows right down to only a few breaths a minute and you are able to think of nothing else but what you are reading,the same in meditation can be achieved by a mantra or concentrating on breath. So in a nutshell when your breath is slowed down not by holding it but by certain yoga tecniques such as taught by Self realization church called Kyria yoga or using a mantra as practised more in Transendential meditation you cut off your main senses,hearing,smell,etc-like a light bulb when you turn the switch off the power is still going to the bulb but you have not turned it on- so when you achieve this state which might be from one minute to five minutes depending on practise your mind becomes in total relaxion which in turn rests the whole body and gives you a bliss type feeling- when in this state you may want to think about God and feel that amazing energy that will come upon you without breath. I have been meditating for thirty years on and off and am afraid I get caught back into the Maya of life which is delusion and then my life gets caught up in wordly dramas like booze,smoking,sex,and rock and roll and I become unhappy-Then I go back to meditation and feel my spirtual side re-awaken again- The search for Nirvana is a long road but never give up because every correct breath and thought stops us from coming back to this world and will leave us in constant bliss with the forces of life. Try meditation for one month there is plenty of free info out there on the internet to give you a tecnique to use,and then tell me you got nothing from it-you would be lying.Cya again world |
